Swimwear Fashion Photo Shoot at Strawberry Hill

This years Flair Swimwear fashion edition photo shoot was at the located at the ever exotic Strawberry Hill Resort. A Remote location but the view and ambiance make up for the distance. This years format was different but in a good way, the pieces were sorted by models meaning a designer to model relationship. Meaning All swimwear from Designer A were modelled by Model A etc. Working with experienced models is always a huge plus *big grin*. The artistic direction was that of @Garfene lighting assistance was pretty much by everyone that day. big thanks to everyone @alysiafrancis @misimxo @cc_chantae @fluffykrissy @danishascott @mscorolla7@randyb_876 @brischh @ayanna_asd @flirtboutiqueja @garfene for making that shoot pretty fricking epic. Swimwear, Models, Camera Equipment, Good company and Coffee you can definitely say it was a good day for me Here are a few photos from the shoot, please pick up a copy of the Jamaica Gleaner’s Flair Magazine and check out the full spread. Or of course subscribe to the ePaper for a digital solution and of course some BTS images shot with ninja like stealth by...

On assignment: Flair magazine fashion photo shoot with D’angel

shortly after tha cover shoot I had to run scarf some food and drive up to my next assignment, all I knew is i was shooting some fashion, not who nor where, in transit to the assignment the reporter made me aware I Would be photographing Michelle Downer, lovingly and popularly know as D’angel. I wasn’t really nervous because I had photographed her before aaggges ago anyway that shoot sucked as I sucked a lot more then than i do now. I wanted to make a statement with these images as best as I could with the limited time i would probably have with the artiste as I had previously learned on a photoshoot with bet 106 and parks host, Roxie :(. Luckily time wasn’t a big issue for reason i cant explain as i have signed a non disclosure agreement. Anywhoo there where 8 looks total and I had the ability to use anywhere I wanted to at the location. Mostly I had a 1 light setup as i didn’t take much with me cause i didn’t now who i was photographing but I did make the best of it. I used the sb900 in su4 as my kicker light in a few shots that i wanted that effect here’s my favorite image from the set. My reason for liking this image is the Contrast in theme A juxtaposition of her attire and location. enjoy and see the rest of the images and article in the Flair Magazine...

On Assignment: The Flair Magazine Anniversary Swimsuit Photoshoot

😀 :'( With that out the way, lets get into the meat of the matter. The assignment was an all day event started at about 10:00 am and ended at approximately 6:00 pm. I will state the obvious I was shooting models, show casing swimwear by various designers at the moment the only one I can remember is Minka (love her work). Equipment I have not yet recieved my Softligher and Cybersync Triggers so I’m still on shoot through smith victor umbrella’s and poverty wizards. Nikon D2h sb-28-dx and Keisha who had to deal with the heavy lightstand (to give me the positiong I required for my Lights, Without her non of those photos would be possible) The Shoot There were 4 Beautiful models and A whole lotta swimwear. keeping focused on this shoot was not an issue ( I jest it never is). The ladies knew what to do and needed little Artistic Direction So the shoot flowed very well so to speak. I’ve posted my favored photo as a preview of what the output is like. Here I had the light overhead from left pushing light down on the subject. was at about 1/2 power distance doesn’t really count it was as close as it could be without being in the frame I love this shot the most because it reminds me of scorpion / subzero or reptile (i’m sure you recognize that pose if your gamer / geek of any kind) Model: Debbie-Ann Willams Makeup: Latoya Grindley Photography: Gladstone Taylor Here’s a link to all the photos published on the...

on assignment: Dexter Huxtable – Spokes Aparrel

First off I’ld like to say this man makes damn good suits, if your getting married, if your name is Barney Stintson* or if you really just love wearing a custom fitted suit. stop by spokes apparel and speak with Mr Huxtable his suits are amazing, I’ve shot a wedding where the groomsmen were all wearing this threads n in part thats what made my images look so awesome (wardrobe). Ok now that i’ve finished that rant that you definitely didn’t need to red forgot to mention that I’ll speak about the assignment. This was for the Flair Magazine’s Main feature and was just to be some images of Dexter during his interview and a main shot for the cover. I could have easily just stuck that sb-28 on the d2h and bounce off the ceiling or wall behind me or kinda feathered but I brought a lightstand a shoot through umbrella and my Poverty wizards n in minutes I had better looking images than I would have ever gotten with on axis light. The cover image I was especially happy about, For this I had to re-arrange the store a bit to get space and the spot I was allowed to move stuff from was perfect as it had his store sign “spokes” on the wall, so i got a kinda environmental portrait of him sporting one of his jackets. quick portrait took like 5 minutes and everyone was happy here’s the image used for the front page hope you like it the image was published in the July 19, 2010 Issue of the Flair Magazine See you next...
