Synchronised Swimming by the Island Aquatics Syncho Club

Swimming has become sort of a big deal locally thanks to Olympian Alia Atkinson who is the poster girl for water sports locally after her performance at the last olympics. Now despite placing 4th, it was still a huge deal to Jamaica and support for swimming which was next to non existent is finally being given from various local organisations.

At a recent function held to announce Alia Atkinson as a brand ambassador for Grace Kennedy Money Services, I had the pleasure of photographing synchronised swimming. It was very entertaining and led me to wonder will Jamaica ever have international representation in that sport, especially in light of recent attention being given to swimming.
