One of my projects from january 2010. For this particular event I was shooting backup for an agency “IMGwire”. The lead photographer, and ceo of IMGwire “giovanni powell” had sent video and still images of the venue via blackberry to me from midday of the 14th of january.

This gave me an idea of seating arrangements. Lighting arrangements and where may be in accessible or where ild want to be to get my required images. Based on the lighting conditions it was clear that I needed my glass to be f2/8 or faster. So I took the 50mm F1.8 and 28 – 75mm f2/8 which severd quit well. The camera bodies used for this assignment was the eos 30d and IMGwires eos 1D MKIII.

The images from the event came out pretty good. as a preview, in the image to the left we have the sportswoman of 2009 Bridget Foster, The rest of the images are available in my portfolio for viewing go check em out.

Android based Lomography

Hey everyone this week I’m checking in to share with you this awesome app I came across in the android market place called “fxcamera”. This camera app as it is title states gives you different effects based on your selection. Options available are toy cam (lomo), polaroid, fisheye and the worholizer. I’m really in it for the lomo. I just love that look it gives. Burnt edges, natural vignette, warm colors and all in all awesomeness (different is sometimes all you need for inspiration) to the right is an image of an orchid I got my fiance in the christmas holidays

Hey, everyone, I’m still alive and well, and still shooting Nothing much to post as I haven’t shot much personal projects or muc portriats recently. There’s been a small wave of Event Photography and photo sessions from which I cannot share as i dont have the rights to the image. I’ll leave you with some thumbs from sting which i did on December the 26th 2009

on the business side of things I’ve been doing alot of thinking and have some ideas for change for my photography business.

Change interms of Equipment, Business Practices and ethics as well as What I Primarily shoot.

On another note I have an interview with a newspaper company tomorrow. Contemplating shooting for the paper now if its a Viable option for an extra income while doing some I love and enjoy.

Other benefits would be lots of exposure to different kind of events. and just becoming experienced and seasoned in location based photography as typically photojournalist Have to go shoot something or someone instead of it coming to them right.

Christmas is here!!!!

The holidays are upon us. It is tomorrow.. the pinacle of the season of which it is cool to be jolly. lol. Um The hustle and bustle will heighten to its greatest extent tonight. I think I’m gonna keep in. As a result I pushed forward an image I had envisioned Capturing to an earlier date (yesterday). Hope you enjoy it, feel free to give feedback on it via comments (-_-).

For the next few days I’m really busy, Christmas seems to be the big rest day or tranquility and family time. the 26th, I’m shooting Sting 2009 The biggest stage show in the Caribbean, then the 27th I’m shooting some children, and then the 28th I’m shooting some Portraits for a young lady. will have to give some thought as to what I’m traveling with on the 26th and the 27th.. would love to keep the weight light-ish as I’m not Driving… .

Caribbean Model Search – Plus

Hey everyone. Last time i wrote i spoke of the new wacom bamboo pen and touch and spoke of the only project i used it on was the recently shot cms-plus episode for which i was the challenge photographer for. The setup was fairly simple a single sb 28dx on a lightstand blasted through a shoot through umbrella, with a voice activiated power adjustment module (@vampnixen my lovely light assistant).

The challenge was kinda cool, The girls were split into 3 groups and each girl was given a personality to portray in the photo and make it look good as a group, a certain synergy should be present so to speak. They were typical personalities: Sexy, Shy, Spunky, Gangsta and Diva If memory served me correct. Here’s one of the images from the show.

New wacom on the desk

So about 2 weeks ago I bought the new wacom bamboo pen and touch tablet and I’m loving it. To some extent I think my old bamboo fun felt more precise but I could be wrong, it could easily be cs4and windows 7 as I was on xp with cs 3 with the bamboo fun.

The bamboo penandtouch comeswith a copy of photoshop elements and though a pretty good software it felt noticably slower than cs3 and cs4, the tablet movements would lag by a few milli seconds ard that will drive you insane eventually trust me.

So far I’ve used it to do minor retouching on a few projects n I’ve completely adapted to the differences from the old bamboo fun now and I’m unsure ifild want the tablet without the touch features.

Final note, tunein to pulse cms plusthis week friday to see me and my lovely lighting assistant and fiance shooting the “challenge” for the episode.. Some images should also be in the paper too I think.

A Tribute To Micheal Jackson

Caribbean Fashion Week 2009

This year I was able to shoot Pulse’s CFW alongside Don Giovanni and Linkin (who was mostly backstage, Was doing the all access work). The Runway Events lasted for about 5 hours maybe 6 with sort break intervals. and went on for 3 days (Friday – Sunday). Showcasing Beautiful Collections From Designers Such as Art on the run, Romanian designer Catalin Botezatu, Minka, Lamaica, Julan, Mutumba, Biggy, Mieling, 3rd Revolt Claudia Pegus, Courtney Washington, Didi Beck, Khanami, Shakad, The cloth, Yardman Style and performances by artists such as Tessanne Chyn, Tammy Chyn, Eve, Kelly Rowland, Cherine Anderson, D’Angel. Studio Portrait Session

Over the weekend I had two portait sessions in in my home studio *grin*. I only had permission to post from 1 of the models So here goes. This is a One Light setup shot through 1 white shoot through umbrella. The makeup artistry was done by @vampnixen, The photo and post processing by Yours truely Taylor.
