Fashion: Ladies of Gatsby Photoshoot

The Fashion Shoot Concept

An idea thrown out about doing a 1920’s themed Fashion photo shoot to play on the upcoming release of the movie; The Great¬†Gatsby. ¬†The assignment luckily fell into my assignment inbox. I figured why not do it properly and bring in my personal lights and and equipment.

The Location
Devon House Jamaica though of a different historic background than the 1920’s Gatsby Era. Offered reasonable backgrounds for the old fashioned themes needed for the photo shoot.

The Photo Shoot Tools
The equipment used was an Alien Bee 800 as key light. A Nikon SB 900 and Nikon SB 28 as kicker lights to accentuate, shape and separate subjects from the backgrounds. Optics used for the most part was the Nikkor 70-200 f/2.8. The other Go to lens was the Nikon 50mm f/1.8. The least used lens was the Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8. The only reason for that though was wide angles aren’t flattering for portraits or fashion editorials.

Here’s a few images from the fashion photo shoot.
